Creating the Hand Crank

Cutting a length of aluminium tube (to attach around the crankshaft) to size.

Deburring the end of the tube using the lathe.

Drilling and tapping holes so that there is a thread for bolts to grip to.

Cutting an “end” for the handle using the centre lathe.

Applying lubricant on a drill bit, to form a hole in the centre of the “end”.

Securing a bolt in the “end”.

Cutting down the “end” to the correct diameter.

Drilling a hole in the handle.

Marking out, cutting and sanding the connector between the handle and the aluminium tube around the crank.

Final assembly.

Resin 3D printing an attachment at the top of the engine, forming an enclosed chamber.
